Job Description

We are seeking a local college student for our Accounting Intern position with our Watershed Innovation company. The right candidate will create financial transactions and generating reports from that information. This will include posting information to accounting software from source documents such as generating invoices to customers, cash receipts, payment to invoices received, monthly bank reconciliations, and intercompany journal entries.

This position would work 20 hours per week, between the hours of 8am - 5pm, Mon-Fri.

Typical duties would include:

  • Monitor and manage accounts receivable 
  • Issue invoices to customers
  • Record cash receipts entry in accounting software and make bank deposits
  • Perform monthly reconciliations and financial reporting
  • Post daily inventory, work in process, and cost of sales transactions 
  • Reconcile and keep inventory up to date and accurate
  • Record general journal entries
  • Generate & maintain supporting schedules for balance sheet and select income statement accounts
  • Purchase supplies and equipment
  • Provide clerical and administrative support as requested

Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work closely with all members of the organization
  • Excellent organization and project management skills
  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Working towards a degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
  • Strong Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint experience
  • Licensed Driver with a good driving record (subject to MVR)
