Job Description

We are looking for a Lead in our Assembly department. The right candidate is mechanically inclined with an eye for detail and experience in leading or coaching others. This Lead will be directly responsible for assisting in the daily operations of our Assembly Line 1 department.  Meeting facility goals regarding safety, quality and on-time delivery of products from one department to the next.   This is a first shift position, 5:30am - 4pm, Mon - Thurs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain uniform methods of operation for your department
  • Communicate information to employees within the department and to the manufacturing manager
  • Participate in the implementation of advanced manufacturing technology to improve the cost of parts produced and to achieve goals set
  • Read and understand product orders to ensure proper construction
  • Handle all employment related issues including hiring, training, appraising, counseling and reprimands in a competent manner or refer to the appropriate personal as necessary
  • Support all safety initiatives and maintain a high awareness of safety in the facility.

  • Ability to establish priorities, meet deadlines, and make decisions/choices within the functional area of responsibility with minimal direct supervision
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere and interaction with all members of the team
  • Ability to handle emergency situations calmly
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment including 1-2 years progressive leadership experience
  • Working knowledge of all processes and procedures required to perform all functions within the department
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products required
