Job Description

As a Designer II, you will work as an integral member of Nautique’s Product Design and Development (PD&D) team helping design our award winning Nautique wakeboard, waterski and wake surf boats. This person will help insure that future designs will be the highest quality in safety, design, efficiency and customer satisfaction. Be a part of a team that allows you to bring your passion and skills to our highly collaborative environment. Be a part of the talents responsible for the development of all award-winning wakeboard, waterski and wake surf boats produced by Nautique Boats. We offer an 8-5, Monday - Friday schedule and compensation based on experience. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create visually compelling sketches, drawings and renderings to communicate ideas for internal and external audiences. 

  • Work in 2D and 3D to guide development of new products in various materials and processes

  • Collaborate with other teams within PD&D to create design and engineering packages for both internal and external vendors

  • Produce some of the hundreds of components and assembly that make up the final product.

Qualifications

 

  • Passion for Transportation design

  • Interest in parallel industries that inspire colors and material finishes, such as art and fashion industries

  • 4-6 years experience 

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite Products – specifically Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop

  • Proficient with CAD modeling software.

  • An energetic, forward-thinking and creative individual with high ethical standards and an appropriate professional image.

  • Strong level of writing proficiency to communicate professionally

  • A well-organized and self-directed team player.

  • An intelligent and articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of an organization.

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex technical documents.

  • Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations

Additional Preferred Experience/Skills:

  • Ability to create: wood working, welding, product or craft

  • Experienced in a manufacturing environment or industry that builds something

  • Passion for the boating industry, particularly the watersports market, is highly valuable

  • Experience seeing a design from idea to implementation

  • Storyboard experience

  • Versed in observational research
