Job Description

Inspect Gelcoat for any imperfections and make repairs if necessary. Each boat is then sanded and buffed to a high gloss shine. 

We offer a first shift, 5:30am - 4pm, paying $13 for training, $14-$16 per hour, for experienced.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform tasks under time sensitive deadlines
  • Operate forklift
  • Identify and correct imperfections in the Gelcoat 
  • Sand/Buff areas as needed
  • Maintain an organized, orderly and safe work area
  • Follow detailed instructions from Supervisor/Lead
  • Repairs fiberglass boat hulls and decks using paint, buffer with wax, polish, compound, fillers, putty, and/or paste
  • Hand tools may include gel-coat spray equipment, grinders, buffer, drill, or other specialty tools and fixtures
  • Drills Holes and Trims & Grinds molded fiberglass hulls to specifications using appropriate templates, jigs and fixtures.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to work in non-climate-controlled environment where ambient air temperature can exceed outside air temperature.
  • Must be able to wear proper safety equipment when necessary.
  • Experienced using small hand tools, such as grinder, scraper, blower, razor knife, etc.
  • Forklift experience needed
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Experienced working with Fiberglass preferred
  • Experienced working with hand and power tools
  • Able to squat, climb, bend, etc. as needed to apply stripes inside of hulls
  • Experienced using an Orbital Sander
  • Preferred experience working in a boat manufacturing facility
  • Prefer to haVe worked on repairing boat molds
