Job Description

Reporting to the Receiving Supervisor, the Material Handler 2 is responsible for accurate & timely material delivery to production lines and day-to-day receiving department activities, while working closely with both shop floor and receiving department staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receive Packing slips
  • Fulfill Kanban orders as required
  • Pick material and deliver all production boards
  • Generate and fill transfers
  • Slab picking
  • Aluminum picking
  • PH tech picking
  • Accurate cycle counting
  • Cardboard recycling and golf cart driving
  • Assist in other areas as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness of working area
  • Deliver product to various areas of the factory as required

Qualifications

  • Valid Fork Lift license and previous experience required (1 year).
  • Strong communication, customer service, basic mathematical, and organizational skills.
  • Recognize unsafe conditions or hazards within the work area.
  • Team player with a desire to get the job done correctly and on time.
  • Flexible and willing to learn new functions within the receiving department.
  • Ability to multitask and work under minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to accept a high degree of responsibility and work well under pressure.
  • Computer skills are required.
  • Ability to withstand very warm and very cold temperatures.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs on a frequent basis and do basic foot to metric calculations.
  • Previous Crane experience is an asset.
