DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The mission of the Lead Maintenance Technician, Planning is to plan to ensure maximum productivity of the maintenance team through the effective organization and scheduling of preventive, predictive and repair related maintenance activities on company assets.                

 

  • Maintain accurate work order backlog list with resource requirement estimates.
  • Create and maintain a future schedule of work and resources required for a minimum of (2) weeks.
  • Create work orders as required for planned activities.
  • Track and report work order performance metrics.
  • Ensure documentation is maintained and available for performing assigned work.
  • Coordinate with Storeroom Attendant to ensure that materials and tools are available for performing work on schedule dates.
  • Take a leadership role in ensuring schedule compliance through pro-active planning and vigilant coordination of resources.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment by cleaning up refuse from work functions and promoting a hazard free work environment.
  • Comply & promote all environmental, health & safety programs, laws and regulations, but not limited to; ensuring containers are properly labeled as to contents, inspecting fall protection equipment, inspecting mobile equipment, follow proper disposal procedures for lighting components, batteries and aerosol containers, posting caution and other signs when required to warn employees of unsafe conditions, and wearing PPE as required for safe handling, safe working conditions or safe equipment use.
  • Promptly notify Management of safety or environmental hazards or of faulty or damaged equipment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or necessary.

Qualifications

  • 2-year degree in Engineering, Maintenance or related field preferred.
  • 2-5 years’ experience in maintenance planning or working as a maintenance technician.
  • Experience with Maintenance Connections, & JD Edwards preferred
  • Microsoft Office with particular focus on Excel for data analysis and metrics reporting required,
  • Ability to understand, organize and streamline technical tasks. 
  • Ability to clearly document work requirements.
  • Ability to communicate well to all levels of the organization verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work well with others and come to consensus on work priorities and methods.
  • Ability to read and understand product and equipment caution or information labels.
  • Ability to locate, read and understand MSDSs, SOPs, JSAs, ESAs and energy control procedures.
  • Trained and approved in the use of the following: Lockout/Tag out, PPE, lift truck, scissor lift, boom lift, fall protection, roof/silo work, welding, torch cutting, power tool and shop equipment use and other skills as designated by the Maintenance Manager preferred.
  • Must be able to reliably perform regular and designated work and be able to effectively work with others.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.  The employee is frequently required to stand, walk; sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and depth perception
