ABOUT THE ROLE

The Strategy & Business Development team at Cornerstone Building Brands is looking to add a talented candidate who demonstrates the ability to bring creative thinking and problem-solving skills to complex issues.

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

This is a hybrid role with 1-2 days/week in the Houston, TX office for Summer 2025.

The Strategy Intern is responsible for providing support to the corporate strategy team by identifying, evaluating, and monitoring new opportunities that strategically optimize or grow the business. The role includes framing, analyzing internal and external sources of information, building and/or vetting financial models, and translating that information into actionable and sound business decisions. This individual contributor role is a true value-add partner and considered the business liaison, data translator, project manager. This position reports to the Vice President, Corporate Strategy.

Role Responsibilities

  • Help manage strategic planning: situation analysis, strategy setting, response planning, financial modeling and initiatives tracking and monitoring.
  • Support development and execution of key strategic initiatives. This includes: scoping and framing issues, analyzing data, developing solutions, designing pilots, planning and supporting execution.
  • Analyze business problems and root causes, then provide strategic recommendations and document next steps.
  • Lead and/or vet construction of analytical models in support of both current and new strategic initiatives.
  • Support preparation for periodic status and ad hoc reports for CEO, leadership team, and Board of Directors.

Qualifications

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • Pursing a bachelor’s degree or higher. Pursuing MBA is preferred
  • Strong customer focus and organizational skills is preferred
  • Strong analytical and influencing skills is preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, both written and oral, with a proven ability to present information clearly, succinctly, and effectively is required
