The Data Analyst works independently to retrieve, analyzeand present data in support of operational initiatives. The incumbent performsstatistical analysis of multiple sources of data to inform stakeholders andimprove effectiveness and utilizes information systems and technical tools toanalyze and manage data that effect and reflect learning initiatives. Duties include:

• Performs a variety of support and statistical dutiesrelated to the evaluation and reporting of data;

• Creates custom data reports to aid the client andinstructional leaders in evaluating student learning and teachingeffectiveness;

• Creates and conduct surveys and data analysis to benchmarkand improve initiatives;

• Actively engages in the design and implementation ofstatistical analysis to evaluate the impact of new curricula, professionaldevelopment, training or other interventions on student and teacher learning aswell as classroom practices;

• Conducts both cross-sectional and longitudinal analysis ofstudent, staff and operational data using a variety of techniques;

• Analyzes student outcomes on annual norm andcriterion-referenced assessments;

• Interprets student achievement and assessment results andprepares reports for internal and external audiences;

• Disaggregates data using quantitative methods, includingstatistical analysis and interpretation;

• Collects and analyzes data related to disproportionalityin identified areas and makes recommendations for corrective action;

• Conducts evaluation and research design, sampling, designof data collection instruments, along with data collection strategies,statistical analysis and execution for assigned projects, and follow throughwith established timelines;

• Uses statistical software to analyze data and preparereports;

• Develops and/or selects appropriate research designs, datacollection instruments, evaluation models and population samples to assist leadershipand the Board in assessing the effectiveness of functions and programsthroughout the system;

• Conducts program evaluations and creates reports relatedto return on investment;

• Creates, analyzes, runs, and distributes data reports for instructionaland non-instructional programming;

• Creates, analyzes, runs, and distributes data reportsrelated to various measures of achievement;

• Reviews, assesses and evaluates programs on a regularbasis providing periodic updates to appropriate leadership team members;Troubleshoots and resolves complex data issues;

A combination of education and experience will be considered for those that have held positions of increasing responsibility in Data or Data Analysis.
