Job Description

Acting as second level support to the Help Desk, the application support specialist will investigate and diagnose user reported issues to determine source and escalate to appropriate area. They will assist with developing and documenting specifications for application design or change request. In addition to writing and maintaining documentation for software applications from user and technical perspectives, he/she will write and implement software test scripts for new applications as well as software upgrades and service pack installs.

The incumbent will collaborate with Manager of IT Applications to coordinate and test enhancements, upgrades, patches and fixes.

Qualifications

Education and experience equal to an Associate Degree plus three (3) years of experience working in a similar capacity.

Experience working in commercial services and/or print manufacturing highly desired.

Knowledge of software applications, database concepts, and reporting capabilities.

Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Ability to lead small to medium projects as related to application support

Knowledge of project management processes.

Ability to teach/train users to use applications

Working knowledge of  File Management, Netsort, PsiGen, DFworks, Pitney Bowes, DOH UPS Account Management System, NYSIF custom reporting interface strongly preferred
