Job Description

Reporting to the Vice President, Finance, the Controller will be key contributor in building a dynamic financial organization dedicated to financial integrity and focused on supporting the growth of Corbus. The Controller will be responsible for all internal financial reporting and SEC reporting. The Controller will ensure the financial organization delivers timely and accurate financials in accordance with GAAP, and that internal controls are documented properly and operating effectively in accordance with SOX.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the monthly, quarterly, and annual close, including review of reconciliations and journal entries to ensure accuracy of the financial reporting process
  • Ensure proper accounting treatment of new contracts (licensing and other), as well as document and/or review technical accounting assessments and policy memos in accordance with GAAP
  • Prepare and file SEC filings, including 10-Qs, 10-Ks, 8-Ks, annual proxy, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP and SEC guidelines
  • Work with external tax consultants to prepare and review US tax provision, as well as US and foreign tax filings
  • Continuously reassess and maintain appropriate internal controls over financial reporting, including assessing risks and developing new controls as necessary
  • Assist with review of controls environment and risk assessment; establish and maintain internal controls; review internal assessment of operation of controls on an interim and year-end basis
  • Support the annual audit and quarterly reviews and serve as liaison to auditors, consultants, and other service providers
  • Maintain and oversee payroll, cash management, and daily accounting operations
  •  Maintain stock compensation software and reporting system
  • Oversee travel expense reporting
  • Optimize and automate all processes to improve efficiency
  • Prepare annual operating budget and maintain quarterly forecasts
  • Coach and develop accounting/finance team, with an emphasis on cross-training and providing growth and learning opportunities
  • Ad hoc projects as required by the CP, Finance and/or CFO

 

Qualifications

Required Skills/Experiences:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, MBA a plus
  • CPA certification
  • At least five years of experience in public accounting
  • At least three years of experience post public accounting working in a public biotech, pharma or high tech
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Unquestionable integrity and personal ethics
  • Strong technical accounting and financial reporting skills with GAAP and SEC
  • Creativity, flexibility, and an entrepreneurial mindset, including the ability to do more with less
  • Strong management skills with ability to drive accountability across the company
