Job Description:

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Director, Antibody Discovery with a strong background in Therapeutic Antibodies, antibody discovery, and high-throughput screening techniques. This individual will be responsible for leading the antibody characterization department, managing various workflows, optimizing processes, troubleshooting, developing a team of scientists, and implementing advanced NGS technologies and large-scale sequencing data analysis for antibody discovery and characterization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and optimize workflows for antibody characterization, including antibody humanization, affinity maturation, and antibody format optimization.
• Oversee the implementation and management of high-throughput screening platforms for identifying and validating therapeutic antibody candidates.
• Evaluate rational combinations of immuno-oncology assets and tumor microenvironment remodeling agents to overcome immune evasion mechanisms.
• Oversee cell line development management with Contract Research Organizations (CROs), and initiate internal efforts on cell line development to expedite the Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Control development.
• Perform immunogenicity assessment and strategize methods to evaluate the potential immunogenicity of therapeutic antibodies, including antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs).
• Work closely with all scientific departments, regulatory agencies, and senior management to ensure excellent management of all activities and communication. This includes addressing regulatory queries, presenting data, and ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines.
• Actively participate in interactions with regulatory agencies, such as the FDA, for antibody characterization-related matters.

Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in Tumor Biology, Immunology, Pharmacology, or a related scientific discipline.
• 7+ years of experience in pharmaceutical research and development, ideally in industry, in oncology directed programs.
• Proven expertise in antibody discovery, including experience with antibody lead identification and screening.
• Deep understanding of cellular and molecular mechanisms of tumorigenesis and tumor resistance mechanisms.
• Experience in developing an antibody-based immunotherapy and/or antibody drug conjugate from early discovery to clinic is highly preferred.
• Proficiency in high-throughput screening techniques and familiarity with antibody engineering techniques.
• Ability to drive, manage, execute, and deliver results for complex multi-functional projects.

Critical Requirements:

• Proven ability to manage and develop a team of scientists, providing guidance and fostering their professional growth.
• Track record of successfully driving complex multi-functional projects to deliver results.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively convey scientific data to stakeholders, including senior management.
• Highly-developed problem-solving and risk management skills, and attention to detail.
• Ability to act as an external ambassador and to influence external organizations to enhance Corbus Pharmaceuticals’ reputation for scientific excellence.
