Job Description

We are seeking a Director/Senior Director, R & D Program Management to provide strategic leadership and operational planning expertise to Corbus Pharmaceuticals Research and Development programs. The position co-leads our Product Development Teams and supports other functional sub-teams, as required. The Director/Senior Director, R & D Program Management will have exceptional project management and communication skills in order to coordinate activities across R & D to support Corbus’s business goals and team objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Co-leadership of the Product Development Team (PDT), accurately maintaining agendas, minutes and action logs
  • Ensuring excellent communication between functional SMEs within the PDT
  • Providing contemporaneous, accurate and effective reporting of team progress to Senior Management
  • Providing operational expertise and strategic input to Integrated Product Development Plans incorporating and aligning functional planning from Non-clinical, Clinical and Manufacturing
  • Maintaining high-level Gantt and Proiect Management tools for the PDT (and supporting functional sub-teams as required), ensuring that this aligns with functional sub-team timelines and milestones.
  • Working with R & D SMEs to identify risks to the product associated R & D activities and developing comprehensive/effective mitigation strategies.
  • Working closely with Corbus SMES (and where necessary directly with CROs CMOs and vendors) and Finance to ensure that budgets, and financial forecasts are accurate and maintained.
  • Working with R & D SMEs to manage issues including appropriate escalation to Senior Management and effective follow-up of actions.

Other potential responsibilities as required:

  • Line management and mentoring of less experienced staff members
  • Alliance management of industrial and academic partnerships

 

Qualifications

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Bachelors Degree or international equivalent required in Life Sciences
  • 15+ years experience in R & D specialties
  • Project Management Qualification preferred
  • Therapeutic knowledge of oncology development required
  • Demonstrated excellence in program management, including scenario assessment, risk assessment, budget management, and contingency planning
  • Excellent teamwork, organizational, interpersonal, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional study teams
  • Strong organizational skills, sufficient to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate statistical concepts in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to work independently and act with initiative to address issues
  • Experience of managing alliances with academic or industry partners an advantage
