We are seeking an experienced and skilled Shop Foreman to join our team. As the Shop Foreman, you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing staff, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency in our shop.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of shop personnel, including automotive technicians and support staff
- Develop and implement work schedules, assign tasks, and monitor productivity
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment
- Conduct regular quality control checks and implement improvements to processes and procedures
- Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and maintain equipment
- Train and mentor team members, providing guidance and support as needed
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and assist in resolving customer concerns
- Collaborate with other departments to optimize workflow and meet production goals
- Prepare and maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation
- Stay updated on industry trends and implement new technologies or methods as appropriate
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in a similar role in the automotive retail and service industry
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively
- Strong mechanical and technical knowledge relevant to the shop's operations
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Thorough understanding of safety protocols and quality control procedures
- Proficiency in inventory management and scheduling techniques
- Strong computer skills, including experience with maintenance management software
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
- Relevant trade certifications (e.g., ASE certifications for automotive shops) are a plus
- In-depth knowledge of industry-specific equipment, processes, and regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
