Job Description

  • Perform work specified on maintenance and repair orders on Diesel Vehicles with efficiency and in accordance with Ford and/or dealership standards.
  • Certified Diesel Technicians diagnose and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, braking, air conditioning, etc. to specification.
  • Provide estimates for additional automotive repairs and recommended maintenance.
  • Fully understands and carries out repair orders as dispatched.
  • Performs quality control checks to ensure repairs are completed.
  • Ensures that required documentation is complete and is in compliance with regulations and standards.
  • Follows all shop policy, procedure, safety, and environmental rules.
  • Communicates effectively with Service Advisor and Parts department personnel
  • Participates in company and Ford Certification training and education to further develop expertise. Attends all staff meetings, trainings, and educational classes as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Post-secondary automotive training or equivalent work experience and Ford Diesel Certification preferred
  • One year of dealer-level, truck, or large facility experience preferred
  • Broad scope of automotive mechanical/electrical knowledge
  • Unrestricted driver's license and clean driving record
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and problem solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interact professionally with customers, vendors, and staff
  • Highly professional and dependable
  • Safety and customer service oriented
  • Basic computer and internet skills
