Job Description

Are you a skilled and experienced Automotive Technician looking for a new opportunity to showcase your talents and earn more income? If so, Joe Cooper Ford of Shawnee is looking for you! We are seeking highly motivated and detail-oriented technicians to join our team in providing world-class service to our client customers.

Responsibilities

  • Performs diagnosis, repairs, and maintenance for customer and dealership vehicles such as mechanical and electrical issues, engine and transmission problems, suspension and steering, and HVAC.
  • Fully understands and carries out repair orders as dispatched.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools and software to identify issues and recommend appropriate repairs. Conducts full inspection, diagnosis, and troubleshooting to determine repair needs.
  • Performs quality control checks to ensure repairs are completed. Ensures that required documentation is complete and is in compliance with regulations and standards.
  • Helps maintain shop appearance and safety standards and ensures the shop runs in an efficient manner by performing duties such as inventory stocking and other general functions.
  • Follows all shop policy, procedure, safety, and environmental rules.
  • Communicates effectively with Service Advisor and Parts department personnel
  • Participates in company and Ford Certification training and education to further develop expertise. Attends all staff meetings, trainings, and educational classes as required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Post-secondary automotive training or equivalent work experience
  • One year of dealer-level or large facility experience preferred
  • Broad scope of automotive mechanical/electrical knowledge
  • Unrestricted driver's license and clean driving record
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, customer service, and problem solving skills
  • Highly professional and dependable
  • Safety and customer service oriented
  • Basic computer and internet skills
