We are looking for a candidate who understands how to troubleshoot various security devices and systems. The candidate will require, little to no supervision to complete assigned task. The candidate must be proficient with maintaining and installing LENEL ACS control, Milestone CCTV, Bosch IDS systems, Axis 2N system as well as various locking devices; minimum of 5 years experience.

Travel within CONUS is part of the job, however right now the two job sites for this role are in the DC Capital area and Rockville, Bethesda MD area. On site rotating between the two sites on a daily basis.

Must have minimum of Public Trust Clearance.

Certificates are preferred with system such as Lenel but not required.

Must have own tools and transporation, parking is paid for with these specific projects.

Job Description

The Service Technician II plays a crucial role in the installation, maintenance, and  troubleshooting of security systems, ensuring the highest level of functionality and customer satisfaction within the Federal Operations Department.

Responsibilities: 

Installation and Maintenance:

• Install, configure, and maintain security systems, including but not limited to access  control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection systems. 

• Conduct system upgrades and modifications to meet client requirements and industry  standards. 

• Collaborate with project teams to ensure successful implementation of security solutions. 

Troubleshooting and Diagnostics: 

• Identify and resolve technical issues promptly and efficiently. 

• Conduct diagnostic tests and utilize troubleshooting tools to analyze system performance.

• Provide remote and on-site support to address client concerns and maintain system  functionality. 

Customer Support: 

  • Interface directly with clients to understand their needs and address inquiries. 
  • Provide training and guidance to clients on system operation and maintenance.
  • Build and maintain positive client relationships through effective communication and  problem resolution. 

Documentation

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all service activities, including  service reports, equipment inventory, and configuration changes. 

• Collaborate with the technical support team to contribute to knowledge bases and best  practices. 

Quality Assurance: 

• Ensure that all installations and services meet company and industry standards.

•Conduct regular quality checks and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school degree/GED required. Relevant trade certification preferred.

• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in the installation and maintenance of security  systems. 

• 1 to 2 product-specific certifications helpful; industry-specific certifications desired; must  have or be able to obtain applicable state and/or local required industry licenses as  required by state law; Must have valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. 

• The colleague must frequently lift, push, or pull up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift,  push or pull up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to  adjust focus. 

• The position may require Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) use such as safety  glasses, hard hat, ear plugs, steel-toed shoes, or work boots, as required on job site. May  require safety vest.  

• Basic networking communication understanding 

• Ability to discern need for escalated support and communicate need for help. Ability to  work with minimal supervision.

• Security Clearances: This position may require a Public Trust Clearance at minimum. The clearance  requirements are determined by the agency(s) in which you are assigned. Convergint  Federal will sponsor the level of clearance required. However, it will be your  responsibility to obtain and maintain your required level of clearance.

Salary range $65k-97K
