Job Description

CF is seeking a Quality Control Manager specific to Construction projects, Construction Quality Control Manager (CQCM). The position will report to our corporate office in McLean, VA. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the company and subcontractors provide quality products and services to CF’s existing as well as new customers.

 The CQCM role will provide oversite and review ensuring quality and consistency prior to delivery of documents and deliverables to our customers.  The CQCM will provide guidance and oversight to include but not limited to in-house team members (e.g.: Project Managers, Engineering, Superintendents) and external team members (e.g.: subcontractors, vendors).

 The CQCM role will provide oversite and review ensuring quality and consistency prior to delivery of documents and deliverables to our customers.  The CQCM will provide guidance and oversight to include but not limited to in-house team members (e.g.: Project Managers, Engineering, Superintendents) and external team members (e.g.: subcontractors, vendors).

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review, update, and maintain the project submittal register and all other project specific quality control reports as required
  • Review shop drawings (SD’s) and submittals for conformance, quality, and consistency against project specifications by direct review, and by leveraging the knowledge and experience of others on the project team when necessary
  • Conduct preparatory, initial, and follow-up meetings to establish an understanding of the standards of care desired for each definable feature of work
  • Verify and document that all deliverables required in conformance with the approved deliverables schedule, are reviewed and delivered per approved schedule
  • Conduct pre-construction meetings with the project teams and subcontractors, providing definable and actionable deliverable timetables and the effects of quality
  • Compile and assemble Lessons Learned related documents displaying the effects of quality
  • Direct communication with Program Managers and customers ensuring contract adherence on both the contract and task order level

Qualifications

  • ·         7 years’ experience working on USACE construction projects with at least 2 years’ experience as a QC manager on USACE construction projects

    ·         5 years' combined experience as a superintendent, QC manager, project manager, or project engineer on vertical construction and renovation type construction projects

    ·         Current USACE "Construction Quality Management for Contractors" Certification

    ·         Must be able to pass DoD security clearance for base access

    ·         Knowledge of a wide range of construction materials, methods, and techniques including Unified Facilities Guide Specifications (UFGS), Army Facility Management Regulations (AR)

    ·         Proficiency or understanding with QCS, RMS or QAS Programs

    ·         Knowledge and understanding of contact requirements including Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR’s), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation (DFAR’s)

    ·         Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

    ·         Excellent written and verbal communication

    ·         Demonstrate a professional demeanor

    ·         Valid driver's license with good motor vehicle record

Certifications Required

·         Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field from an accredited university or college

Additional Information

Clearance: Requires Secret Level Clearance minimum

  • Clearance: Able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
  • Must be a United States Citizen
  • Must be literate in both spoken and written English.
