Job Description

This position will be responsible for the effective management of R&D projects that will include new product and materials development such as:

 

  • Developing new color formulations to meet customer and market needs in PVC, TPO and inks.
  • Preparing samples
  • Following product development process including the creation of technical specifications and Design Verification Process and proper data management of applicable information.
  • Working with vendors to benchmark product offerings and qualify new raw materials for serial production
  • Managing the effective use of external testing facilities and data analysis.
  • Directing analytical and competitive product analysis in order to benchmark our products performance against competitive products in the marketplace and determine best in class attributes.
  • Communicating with colleagues at all of levels within the organization
  • Working with cross functional teams and lead the investigation of the root causes of product and/or process issues
  • Supervising technicians indirectly and other R&D staff in the completion of assignments.
  • Participating in additional duties as required

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in polymer science, chemistry, or engineering or other technical degree or equivalent experience
  • Passing color test
  • Team player.  Able to work with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to communicate technical information to a diverse audience.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct and fully document research projects.
  • Detail oriented and Hands On
  • Practical experience using problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of pigments preferred
  • Experience with calendering, gravure and spreadcoating applications
