THE POSITION

You will be joining the Global Labs - Americas team focused on the mixing, vulcanization and testing of thermoset and thermoplastic compounds to support all product areas of ContiTech AG and primarily ContiTech USA, Inc. The safe optimization, maintenance, and calibration of test equipment is the core to the performance and quality success of this facility.

Essential Functions:

  • Assure proper function of test stations and equipment.
  • Maintain and optimize test station programming with global alignment between sister labs.
  • Reading and interpreting test station data as it relates to the compounds under test.
  • Have advanced understanding of test concepts used in the stations with ability to explain at a detailed level.
  • Ability to interpret SPC run charts and provide informed guidance to Quality activities.
  • Work closely with Quality department to identify root causes of issues discovered by test stations.
  • Involvement / leading Chemical Hygiene activities as they relate to laboratory testing.
  • Assure safety and quality procedures and methods are met.
  • Provide training to all Technicians in proper material safety and test equipment functions.
  • Assist Technicians and Quality personnel in troubleshooting, calibration, and repair of test equipment.
  • Establish good working relationships with technicians and production personnel. Work closely with supervisors in all areas.
  • Interface with internal customers as needed to support special testing requests.

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering discipline or equivalent discipline
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Proficient communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Strong understanding of Quality processes and tools.
  • Skilled quality/safety/mechanical /electrical /electronic/pneumatic knowledge.
  • Excellent time management skills for high degree of efficiency and productivity.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
