Job Description

To support Continental's continuous development of infrastructure services, we are looking for you, a network engineer (m/f/diverse), who interested in assisting to set-up, to embed and to adopt new technologies for SD-WAN and Multi-Cloud environments. You will work in a well-grown and highly qualified team, being responsible for a modern, scalable, secure and resilient digital infrastructure.

Your tasks and responsibilities:

  • Consulting, designing and piloting network architectures and deployments of next generation networks, utilizing SD-WAN and public Cloud technologies
  • Communication and collaboration with external suppliers, e.g., managed service providers, software and hardware vendors, as well as internal departments, business units and group sectors
  • Driving escalation and problem management processes, coordinate complex incident and problem resolution with internal IT teams and external service providers
  • Continuous development of technical and operational service architecture in a context of innovations, network stability and reliability, security and costs
  • Delivering complex projects on time and having a strong background in network technologies
  • Leverage tools to automate network orchestration tasks
  • Performing feasibility studies and working on IT concepts, market research and vendor evaluations
  • Sketching release processes, operational / technical workflows and live deployments in complex production IT environments
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced collaborative environment is essential

 

Qualifications

  • Academic degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent experience
  • Experience in automation for on-premise and virtual environments (e.g., Ansible, Terraform)
  • Experience with building and maintaining SD-WAN, Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) and Public Clouds (AWS, Azure) environments
  • Experience in working with Corporate Cybersecurity on infrastructure or application security compliance and remediation activities (e.g.: Risk Acceptance, Security Configuration Baseline)
  • Experience in steering external service providers and partners
  • Expert knowledge in the networking area: network topologies, IP protocols and concepts (TCP/IP, IPSec, SSL, VPN, DNS), dynamic routing protocols (OSPF, BGP)
  • Business fluent English and very good German language skills (written and spoken)
  • Ability to solve complex network problems/issues using appropriate diagnostic and monitoring tools
  • Good communication skills and intercultural sensitivity
  • Eagerness to learn and develop
