Job Description

In this role you will contribute your skills and knowledge to the build out of the Investment Risk Management Function within the Constanter Investment Office. You will support the Head of Investment Risk in understanding and advising the Constanter IC and Investment Office on the level and composition of investment risk in particular on illiquid (private) investments.

The Investment Professional will play an important role in providing risk advice in both the origination, deal execution phase as well as the asset management phase of illiquid investments (predominantly PE, Real Assets and Property). Furthermore, the Investment Professional will contribute to the measurement and monitoring of investment performance and risk of the total portfolio and is involved in the modelling of investments in the risk model.

The role offers the opportunity to work within a relatively small team of up to 30 professionals within the Investment Office and will additionally facilitate exposure across multiple asset classes. The successful candidate will work closely with internal investment and operations teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop a framework for risk identification, measurement and management of private investments in Private Equity, Real Assets and Property as well as those in the Public Markets and Diversifiers portfolios.
  • Provide risk advice to the investment teams and investment committees in the origination phase of private investments.
  • Capture and monitor the risk profile of investments in Private Markets, Real Assets and Property during the investment lifecycle.
  • Provide risk advice on new strategies and investment guidelines for private investments.
  • Provide input and challenge on liquidity analyses and planning for illiquid investments.
  • Be a thought leader on financial risk management in Private Markets and build relationships with international peers.
  • Co-develop reporting and investment specific and market data-based tools and dashboards and processes used to help monitor portfolio risk.
  • Develop strong and collaborative relationships within the Investment Office.

 

Qualifications

  • Extensive (7-12 years) relevant professional experience in the investment industry or consultancy in a role focused on private markets.
  • A strong academic background with a Master’s degree, in finance, economics, mathematics, or natural sciences. Supplemented with professional qualifications such as FRM, CFA, CAIA, CPA or equivalent.
  • A strong understanding of financial (valuation) models and project finance.
  • A strong understanding of (private) credit investments and credit risk modelling.
  • A strong understanding of private equity pacing models.
  • A proactive, enthusiastic and hands-on approach.
  • The desire to work collaboratively in a high performing team.
