Are you a driven and passionate individual seeking an opportunity to make a positive impact on a global scale? We are currently looking for a Head of Grant Operations.
In this newly created role, you will be responsible for leading the Grant Operations team, creating a centre of excellence on Grant Operations and defining direction and the Porticus ambition with regard to grantmaking. Reporting directly to the Director of Regions, you will play a crucial role in administering our grant portfolio, ensuring organizational effectiveness, and maintaining procedural compliance. Oversee the execution and ensure compliance of a high-quality grant lifecycle process (from pipeline to learning/exit).
As a key player in the Grant/Programme lifecycle, you will be leading the end-to-end grant process, working closely with various stakeholders such as grant making staff, the 360 team, Sales Force product owner, IT, and Finance. Your role will involve executing and ensuring compliance throughout grant lifecycle process. Your keen eye for improvement opportunities will lead you to identify and prioritize process enhancements, working together with other stakeholders, and providing training and communication to our global staff as necessary.
You will oversee the execution and ensure compliance of a high-quality end-to-end grant lifecycle process (from pipeline to learning/exit).
In addition, you will establish and maintain guidelines for our grant-making process, ensuring seamless alignment across teams and offices. Your professional and constructive relationships with internal and external stakeholders will be pivotal in fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Qualifications
- Leading the Grant Administration Operations team. Creating a centre of excellence on Grant Operations and defining direction of the organizational ambition regarding grantmaking
- Oversee the execution and ensure compliance of a high-quality grant lifecycle process (from pipeline to learning/exit). Collaborate closely with the product owner and IT to ensure an effective, efficient, and controlled grants management via our management information system, that is constantly being improved according to the organizational needs.
- Identifies, prioritizes and initiates grant cycle process improvements and innovations in conjunctions with other stakeholders, and lead the communications and training of global grant administrative staff. Set guidelines for grant-making process.
- Builds and fosters the Grant Operations team to be fit for purpose.
- Sets the tone for a professional, responsive, and problem-solving and services-oriented grant operations team.
- Maintain a professional and constructive relationship with internal and external stakeholders. Stays up to date on best practices in grants operations and influence the field.
- Oversees the execution and ensures compliance of a high-quality grant lifecycle process.
- You have a bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant working experience.
Education & experience
- Minimum of 5-6 years of experience in grant operations.
- Experience in delivering operational improvements in a social impact environment.
- You have experience with working in an international environment.
- A proven track record of inspiring and motivating dispersed teams and building a culture of high performance, collegiality, and ambition.
- Ability to build effective relationships based on trust, integrity, consistency, and pragmatism.
- In-depth knowledge of financial terms and principles related to grants.
- You are an excellent people manager with strong communication and influencing skills.
- Strong focus on continuous improvement.
- Customer orientation, planning & organisation.

- Geographic scope: Amsterdam, The Netherlands
- Offering a salary between €75.000 - €95.000 depending on experience
- Must be eligible to work in the Netherlands.
- Availability for 40 hours per week has our preference but 36 can be discussed.
- 31 vacation days
- 4 volunteering days
- We have our own pension fund (Provisum)
- Hybrid working opportunity. We have a fantastic Amsterdam office for you to work in and believe you can also be effective at home. We aim for a 40/60 office/home-work balance
- Wish to extend your holidays but don’t have any more vacation days left, you can work up to 10 days from any location in the world.
