Job Description

The Global Communications Team is a new team with a new mission. We are responsible for the external positioning of Porticus and affiliated brands, support the family’s engagement with Porticus’ work, and drive internal communications to engage the workforce and create alignment around organisational goals and ways of working.

The main responsibilities for the Senior Corporate Communications Advisor are threefold: 1) Advise on corporate profile and translate this into actions, resources and policies. 2) Build Porticus’ reputation through internal and external campaigns. 3) Contribute to the development of the communications team and junior members. Activities include:

  • Bring to life the reputation of Porticus through compelling campaigns; internal and external
  • Empower the organization to create high quality communication independently and through relevant suppliers
  • Develop creative content, among others social media campaigns, stories, video’s, etc for internal and external audiences
  • Advise and train the organization on effective representation of Porticus
  • Coach junior members of our team to excellence
  • Learn, fail, succeed, enjoy!

Senior members of the Global Communications Team are:

  • Director of Communications
  • Senior Philanthropic Communications Advisor
  • and a Senior Corporate Communications Advisor (this vacancy).

The senior team is responsible for developing a vision and activities that build, protect and expand the reputation of Porticus. The Senior Corporate Communications advisor will work closely with the Internal Communications Advisor, Brand & Channel Manager and the Social Media Officer to deliver on and coordinate activities as outlined above.

Qualifications

  • >7 years of experience in various forms of (corporate) communications. Required: a combination of internal communications, social media and campaigning experience. Preferably in a high performing corporate environment.
  • Ability to deconstruct complex materials/content into digestible and attractive content (translating conceptual/academic content to make it accessible for a broader audience)
  • Ability to independently write an integrated communication strategy for an international organization.
  • A highly creative mind with a great feeling for design and the drive to use that to develop great content.
  • Conceptual thinker; able to see the world three years from now and translate that into actions today.
  • Self-starter with a hands-on approach. The role is a combination of advisory and hands on work.
  • Experience working with agencies and freelance suppliers.

  • The salary range for this job is between 55.000 and 70.000 annually
  • 31 vacation days

  • A fixed one-year contract, with a view towards indefinite extension.
  • Hybrid working opportunity. We have a fantastic Amsterdam office for you to work in and believe you can also be effective at home. We aim for a 40/60 office/home work balance.
  • Wish to extend your holidays but don’t have any more vacation days left, you can work up to 10 days from any location in the world (we don’t cover travel and lodging though 😊)
