Job Description

The Global Communications Team is a new team with a new mission. We are responsible for the external positioning of Porticus and affiliated brands, support the family’s engagement with Porticus’ work, and drive internal communications to engage the workforce and create alignment around organisational goals and ways of working.

The main responsibilities for the Philanthropic Communications Advisor are: 1) Support our sectors in positioning. 2) Activate our programmatic work through corporate campaigns or support programmatic teams in DIY-communications, 3) Engage our governors in the work we do.

Activities include:

  • Support our programmatic work in narrative development, reputation opportunity/risk analysis, communications priority setting, progress or exit communications
  • Translate the programmatic work into compelling campaigns (internal and external) together with the corporate communications team
  • Provide communications support during high level international events
  • Develop an integrated communications approach with the aim to involve governors in the work
  • Empower programmatic teams to create high quality communication independently and through relevant suppliers
  • Develop creative content, among others social media campaigns, stories, video’s, etc for internal and external audiences
  • Learn, fail, succeed, enjoy!

You will work closely with the Senior Philanthropy Communications Advisor. Together you will develop a framework of services to our programmatic teams and deliver output. Working closely with the entire corporate communications team, you will work to establish focused and creative campaigns that will advance our objectives. You will report to the Director of Communications.

Qualifications

  • Up to 5 years of experience in communications. Preferably in an international NGO or philanthropy setting. Affinity with our work is preferred.
  • Ability to independently write an integrated communication strategy for an international organization.
  • Multitasker with strong advisory skills that allows you to set priorities, create focus and facilitate quality DIY communications.
  • Conceptual thinker; able to see the world three years from now and translate that into actions today.
  • Hands-on and proficient in key MS applications and writing.
  • Experience working with agencies and/or freelancers.
  • Team player.

  • The salary range for this job is between 44.000 and 60.000 annually
  • 31 vacation days

  • Hybrid working opportunity. We have a fantastic Amsterdam office for you to work in and believe you can also be effective at home. We aim for a 40/60 office/home work balance.
  • Wish to extend your holidays but don’t have any more vacation days left, you can work up to 10 days from any location in the world (we don’t cover travel and lodging though 😊)
