Job Description

In your role as Business Controller you lead the planning, budgeting and forecasting cycle for Porticus.  You prepare, develop and analyse management accounting information and provide management with valuable reports and insights to support operational and strategic decision making.

  • Lead the annual planning, budgeting and forecasting cycle for grants and operational expenses for Porticus. Work closely with all teams to collect information and create overviews/ scenarios for multiple years ahead.
  • Track progress of grants and operational expenditure versus budget and have performance conversations with all teams. Proactively identify opportunities to course-correct plans where needed.
  • Create relevant management information for and provide reports to all relevant stakeholders at Porticus, including leadership teams, grant making teams and Governors. Act as their business partner.
  • Provide ad-hoc strategic and operational financial analysis and reports. Align closely with Reporting Specialists on data.
  • Interpretate results and identify trends proactively. Highlight issues and work in partnership with the teams to plan appropriate actions.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, preferably in Finance
  • A minumum of 4 to 5 years’ professional experience in Business Finance, ideally Controlling
  • Experience with financial modelling/forecasting, financial reporting and performance management
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical and numerical skills
  • Strong communication and influencing skills; ability to build effective relationships based on trust, integrity, consistency and pragmatism
  • Experience communicating with management level stakeholders
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills

  • Offering a salary between €60.000 - €75.000 depending on experience
  • Must be eligible to work in the Netherlands
  • Availability for 40 hours per week has our preference but 36 can be discussed

  • Hybrid working opportunity. We have a fantastic Amsterdam office for you to work in and believe you can also be effective at home. We aim for a 40/60 office/home work balance
