Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Chef De Partie to join our culinary team at Constance Halaveli, a prestigious luxury resort in the Maldives. In this pivotal role, you will lead your designated kitchen section, overseeing the preparation and presentation of exceptional dishes while maintaining the highest standards of quality and innovation. You will work collaboratively within our kitchen brigade to deliver outstanding dining experiences to our guests, combining traditional culinary techniques with contemporary creativity. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with strong ambitions to progress into a Sous Chef position.

  • Oversee the daily operations of your assigned kitchen section, ensuring all dishes are prepared to exacting standards and presented with meticulous attention to detail
  • Prepare and present dishes to the highest standards, demonstrating expertise in your culinary specialty
  • Develop and refine menu offerings, creating innovative dishes that showcase your culinary knowledge and creativity
  • Supervise and mentor Demi Chefs de Partie, Commis Chefs, and kitchen assistants, providing guidance on technique, food preparation, and professional development
  • Maintain rigorous food safety and hygiene standards, ensuring full compliance with all health and safety regulations and company policies
  • Manage stock control and inventory for your section, minimizing waste while maintaining optimal ingredient availability
  • Collaborate seamlessly with the Head Chef and kitchen team to ensure smooth operations during service
  • Monitor food costs and portion control, contributing to the efficient management of the kitchen budget
  • Maintain impeccable standards of personal hygiene and professional appearance at all times
  • Ensure consistent quality and presentation of all dishes served to guests, upholding our luxury hospitality standards
  • Respond effectively to challenges and maintain composure under pressure while delivering exceptional results

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar Chef De Partie role within a luxury hotel, resort, or high-end restaurant
  • Strong expertise in culinary techniques, ingredients, and presentation standards for your specialty
  • Proven ability to work under pressure while maintaining exceptional quality and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated leadership and team supervision experience with kitchen staff
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards, and health regulations
  • Proficiency in stock control, inventory management, and food cost analysis
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to train and mentor junior staff
  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities
  • Passion for gastronomy and commitment to luxury hospitality excellence
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are an advantage
  • International culinary exposure is highly desirable
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing kitchen demands
  • Culinary certification or formal training in hospitality/culinary arts is preferred
