Job Description

• Ensure overall efficiency and effectiveness of the HR personnel office.
• Manage recruitment and selection procedures.
• Plan and deploy manpower according to operational objectives.
• Assist management with application of discipline according to company policies and procedures and local legal provisions.
• Give feedback and support to all staff.
• Managing conflict.
• Motivating and reinforcing competencies of the staff of the hotel.
• Assist in developing appropriate HR Policies and Procedures.
• Ensure strict adherence to HR policies and procedures at all times.
• Advise and train staff on Employment Law and IR matters.
• Communicate with and counsel employees on a regular basis.
• Assist management and HOD’s in managing employee training and development for continuous development and to meet individual abilities and aspirations.
• Manage GOP’s application, payments, follow up and renewal.
• Promote health and safety of all employees.
• Conduct induction of new employees.
• Control staffing within established manning levels.
• Control payroll and payroll related costs within the budgeted limits.
• Report regularly to management on HR issues that necessitate attention.
• Represent hotel in various forums and instances – Ministry of Employment and Social Affairs,
Immigration Services, Ministry of Tourism, etc.
• Handle staff complaints and grievances.
• Any other related issues.
 

Qualifications

Qualification:

  • Hold a diploma or degree in management or related field

Experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in hotel industry in a similar position.
  • Proven experience working in a top luxury resort.
  • Experience working in remote island locations.
  • Proven food and beverage management experience

Technical skills:

  • Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS)
  • Up to date with HR trends, labor laws, and best practices in employee engagement and talent management
  • Ability to analyze workforce data, manage budgets, and meet departmental financial targets

 

Soft skills:

  • Ability to build strong relationships and foster a positive workplace culture
  • Mastery in communication, conflict resolution, and employee relations management
  • Leadership and organizational skills
  • Guest-oriented and service-minded
