Job Description

We are seeking a friendly and customer-focused Guest Service Assistant with Chinese language skills to join our team in {NAME}, Maldives. As a vital member of our guest relations team, you will be responsible for ensuring exceptional service to our Chinese-speaking guests, enhancing their overall experience at our resort.

  • Welcome and assist Chinese-speaking guests upon arrival, providing a warm and professional first impression
  • Offer information about resort facilities, services, and local attractions in both Chinese and English
  • Handle guest inquiries, requests, and complaints promptly and efficiently
  • Coordinate with various departments to fulfil guest needs and resolve issues
  • Assist with check-in and check-out procedures, ensuring a smooth process for guests
  • Provide translation and interpretation services when needed
  • Maintain accurate guest records and update information in the hotel management system
  • Promote and upsell resort services and amenities to enhance guest experience
  • Ensure compliance with resort policies and procedures while maintaining high standards of customer service
  • Assist in organising and conducting cultural activities or tours for Chinese-speaking guests

Qualifications

  • Fluency in Chinese (Mandarin) and English, both written and spoken
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong customer service orientation with a friendly and empathetic demeanour
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations
  • Cultural sensitivity and awareness of Chinese customs and expectations
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills and hotel management systems
  • Previous experience in hospitality or customer service roles (preferred)
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Degree in Hospitality, Tourism, or related field (preferred)
  • Knowledge of Maldivian culture and tourism industry (preferred)
  • Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to adapt to the unique working environment of a remote island resort
