Job Description

Responsibilities and duties for this position shall include, but not be limited to, the following areas and activities. The holder of this position may, at any time, be called to perform any other cognate duties at the request of management.

  • You are responsible for a clean and proper mise en place
  • Carry food and beverages from Kitchen/ bar to service area professionally
  • Serve guests according to set standards and procedures
  • Collect soiled glasses from the tables and service stations and to dispatch to dish washing area
  • Maintain cleanliness in the Bar, service station and back area surrounding areas.
  • Complete mise en place before the service starts (without a good mise en place, you cannot provide a perfect service!!)
  • Pick up requisition from storeroom as assigned.
  • You have to know your cocktail menu by heart as well as the beverage list.
  • Answer to guests queries and to refer any complain / suggestion to Outlet Manager or his Assistants.
  • Take Guests order and process same on Touche and raise Bon de commande
  • From time to time may be required to ensure the service at the Restaurant
  • Proceed to Front Office for cash billing, collect receipt and handover to Supervisor/ manager in charge who will process billing and settlement on Touche.
  • For card payment, to direct same through the Supervisor/ Manager in charge.
  • Before bidding farewell, ensure that guest has correctly signed their bill and settle accordingly.
  • Ensure the cashiering book is filled accordingly after each service and handed to Front office/ Billing box.
  • Maintain grooming and make use of English and French language in guest areas as per standard at all times
  • Maintain grooming as per standard at all times
  • Be punctual to duty
  • Work closely Assistant F&B Manager to ensure and maintain quality standard of service.
  • Check safety, cleanliness and tidiness of the Bar area
  • Handle guest comments or other feedback, inform and discuss with the Assistant F&B Manager for improvement.
  • Assist the Assistant F&B Manager for the training and development of the staff.
  • In coordination with both the Assistant F&B Manager, handle staff and counsel them according to procedures and policies.
  • Assist in administration duties.
  • Attend and coordinate briefing, meetings and training sessions.
  • Intake and participate in Daily inventories.
  • Care and maintenance of equipment.
  • Have in depth knowledge of the classic cocktails (hotel recipes and creations) and able to prepare according to standardised presentation
  • The ability to maintain sufficient supplies of stock and maintained it accordingly for operations.
  • To assist cost control to do monthly bar inventory.
  • The ability to maintain and recognise operation equipment conditions. Take responsibility to send for repairing and retrieve it back.
  • To apply the necessary precautions with regards to the resort’s food safety and hygiene standards and respect SGS checklist in line with his work.
  • The ability to discuss about guest preference and shared it with co-workers.
  • To be aware about standards, policies and alcohol serving regulation to guest.
  • To ensure cleanliness, opening & closing duties of staff including efficient performance of assigned side work.
  • To perform other tasks or projects as assigned by the Assistant F&B Manager
  • Maintain a safe work environment. Report and/or rectify safety hazards.
  • Adhere to Occupational Safety and Health Act, local health and safety codes, and company safety and security policy 
  • Promote energy efficiency and environment friendly actions
  • Maintains highest levels of personal hygiene and grooming at all times, as per standard.
  • Participate in trainings as and when required by management
  • Assist in the water plant process.

Qualifications

Experience

  • A minimum of  3 years’ experience in the hospitality industry on a similar position
  • SC holder OR equivalent
  • National Certificate Level 3
  • Team Player
  • Having a flexible approach to work
