We are a large commercial cleaning company looking for an experienced Payroll Assistant to join our Melbourne CBD Head Office team.

Job Description
The role
You will be part of our amazing payroll team of 10 people. Working closely together, will be responsible for the day-to-day processing of various payroll tasks. You’ll also work with several internal departments to provide accurate and effective payroll services to our employees across Australia.
This role will be a full-time, 12-month contract position based at our National Support Office in Melbourne CBD with a mix of 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.
You will be responsible for:
- Day-to-day payroll processing enquiries,
- Setting up new employees and updating any changes as needed,
- Updating leave log,
- Checking and uploading timesheets,
- Issuing employment letters,
- Ensuring the system is kept up to date,
- Processing online visa checks,
- Assisting with month-end, year-end & other reporting and reconciliation as required,
- Ad hoc project and office support as required.
The right candidate will ideally:
- Have high proficiency in MS Excel.
- Be experienced using MicrOpay or an alternate Payroll System.
- Have knowledge in interpreting multiple awards.
- Possess strong verbal and written skills.
- Have accurate data entry skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Hold exceptional organisational skills.
- Be able to work autonomously and as part of a team.
