Food Technologist
Job Description
A food manufacturing business based in Banbury have a requirement for a Food Technologist to join their Technical and Quality department, providing support to the marketing and sales teams.
Commutable from: Banbury, Bicester, Oxford, Oxfordshire, Brackley, Towcester, Kineton, Buckingham, Coventry, Chipping Norton
Salary: £ 25,000 - £ 35,000 per year, 25 days holiday plus bank, retail discounts, death in service 2 x salary, childcare vouchers, pension scheme, car parking, cycle to work scheme.

The role of Food Technologist:
- Work across departments providing technical support and conducting internal audits as required
- Keep the company up to date regarding food legislation and also with customer and company standards
- Ensure customers technical enquiries are responded to and complaints are also received
- Assist in benchmarking and analysis of new products, ensuring technical compliance to specifications as well as shelf life data, advising on nutrition and labelling matters
- Be involved in pack information, artwork and advise on any labelling non-conformances
- Be present and involved with pre-production trials and launches ensuring the products are produced in accordance with such specifications
- Maintain necessary and relevant paperwork and documentation
- Liaise with outside laboratories and relevant advisory companies and 3rd parties
The ideal Food Technologist:
- Will have a good understanding of retailer specification systems
- Knowledge of UK & EU food legislation
- Awareness of food industry requirements
- Team leadership skills
- Keen attention to detail
- Strong project management skills
- Ability to plan and manage conflicting priorities
- Qualified in Food Science, Food Technology or other Science based degree or equivalent
- Experience within a technical role will be essential
- Ideally HACCP qualified and experienced with food safety and hygiene
