Job Description
An ambitious engineering and technology company that has envisioned the future of the low-carbon vehicle markets have a requirement for a 3D CAD Engineer to support on all project 3D data design and drawings to the Company and customer sites. Designing proposals and concepts and taking decisions regarding engineering changes. A busy and challenging role suitable for someone with proven similar experience within automotive engineering.

Salary: £ 40,000 - £ 50,000 p.a + Benefits
The Role
- The 3D CAD Engineer will be responsible for creating design proposals and concepts, and to take decisions regarding engineering changes.
- 3d CAD Engineer will also ensure progress in packaging, including calling meetings when needed.
- Verifying design solutions together with the customer manufacturing teams.
- Ensuring 3D Design and release according to time plan, customer specifications and required methodology.
- Responsible for release of 2D drawings ins addition, to above requirements.
- Ensuring issues and raised and escalated, and technical issues are followed up on and monitored.
- Responsible for RFQ, initiate, identify and report deviations to time plan.
- Support input to DFMEA
- Responsible for harness design to fulfil BOD compliance and support BOD workshops. Design within quality and cost targets.
- Support component engineer with component development.
- Verify design solutions in prototype, virtual and physical builds.
The Person
You will be an experienced automotive based 3D CAD Engineer with a hands-on design and CAD background and you will have a strong mix of the following skills and experience;
- Degree within a technical engineering subject strengthened by at least 2 years' experience within a design / CAD related role. Experience in lieu of education requirements will be considered.
- Certificate in 3D Computer Aided Design (CATIA)
- Certificate in TeamCentre (TCe) is beneficial)
- You must be able to demonstrate a detailed and extensive technical expertise and application of engineering design principles, concepts, theory, and practice.
- Able to organise, plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate workloads to meet established deadlines or milestones.
- You must have an understanding of manufacturing processes and construction methods
- Excellent communications, presentation and interpersonal skills to enable inter-department, customer, government representative and other professional engagement.
