Tendering Engineer

Job Description

A leading manufacturer in the field of measurement are now looking for a Tendering Engineer to join their team, you will be responsible for the preparation and submission of quotations for bespoke products to worldwide customers. You will have strong machining background with experience of turning, milling and grinding, with the ability to read engineering drawings.


Commutable from: Bradford, Halifax, Leeds, Shipley, Dewsbury, Keighley, Farsley, West Yorkshire

Salary: Negotiable plus pension, bonus scheme, 28 days holiday, early finish on a Friday.



The Role

  • Reporting into the Special Department Manager, being responsible for preparation and submission of quotations for bespoke products for customers around the world.
  • The Technical Engineer will support projects for complex measuring systems, through estimating a standard time frame for the performance of manufacturing tasks.
  • Following the production process you will work on the costings, obtaining pricings and availability of various outsourced items, ensuring effective maintenance of the quotations database.
  • The ultimate aim of the role is to achieve targets and job standards set out by Management within a busy working environment.
  • Understanding basic CAD layouts and making slight amendments.

The Person

Apprentice trained Machinist whose confident with shop floor practices in turning, milling or grinding. You must be computer literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft office and able to read technical drawings and understand tolerances. From a personality perspective, you will be methodical and logical in your approach to work, have great interpersonal skills, possess a flexible ?can do, will do' approach, excellent level of attention to detail, to be self-motivated as well as a team player and be confident with an approachable manner.
