Manufacturing Engineer
Job Description
A leading manufacturer of precision components to the aerospace sector has a new requirement for a Manufacturing Engineer to work on a contract basis on its site in Birmingham. Candidates will have experience of process improvement and new product introduction gained within fast paced manufacturing, preferably within the aerospace sector.
Commutable from: Birmingham, Bromsgrove, Solihull, Halesowen, Stourbridge, Redditch, Shirley.
Rate: £35 - £55ph
Suitable For: Manufacturing Engineer, Production Engineer, Process Engineer, CI Engineer, Continuous improvement Engineer.
The Role
Reporting to the Lead Manufacturing Engineer your role will be to support the day to day Operations Team within the Value stream.
Key responsibilities:
Provide day to day support to manufacturing operations
Focus on process robustness through the use of process control measures
Lead structured problem solving projects linked to day-day manufacturing issues (scrap reduction, etc)
Update manufacturing documentation to maintain configuration control and manage Point of Introduction activities.
Ensure process compliance with any productivity improvements within the value stream.
Management of small capital and tooling projects within the value stream.
Support continuous improvement activities across the site.
Participate in risk assessments within the value stream and support actions that arise.
The Person
An experienced Manufacturing Engineer you will have experience developing new process methods, driving continuous improvement activities and have experience working in the aerospace (or similar) sector. Candidates will ideally have six sigma training and the ability to communicate at all levels within the business.
