Job Description

TITLE: Human Resources Coordinator

LOCATION: Hybrid - Philadelphia, PA

SCHEDULE: Full-Time

TRAVEL: < 5%

COMPENSATION: $50,000 - $60,000

As our Human Resources Coordinator, you will provide critical support to the Human Resources department and ensure that people programs are executed accurately and timely. You’ll perform a variety of administrative activities related to recruitment and employee lifecycle processes. This is a customer-facing role in which you’ll serve as the initial point of contact for routine inquiries and provide transactional support to employees seeking assistance with self-service portals and workforce processes. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • HR Admin
    • Support new hire onboarding to include entering employee data into HRIS and payroll systems, collecting personnel documentation, conducting I-9 verifications, and delivering HR Orientations
    • Maintain human resources records
    • Support performance review and bonus processes
    • Answer routine policy, benefit and other HR-related inquiries professionally and accurately and refer non-routine issues to HR Manager
    • Support recruiting processes to include scheduling interviews, delivering written employment offers, processing background screenings, conducting reference checks, and managing the employee referral program
    • Support HR policy creation, revision, review and publication
    • Support ConnectDER’s commitment to racial justice, diversity, equity and inclusion in all organizational efforts
    • Make recommendations for organizational improvements
  • Payroll
    • Prepare and process of bi-weekly and off-cycle payroll
    • Process bi-weekly 401K contributions
    • Process employee changes in payroll and timekeeping systems,  including new hires, terminations, status changes, promotions, deductions, bonuses, expense reimbursements, retroactive adjustments, and manual checks
    • Troubleshoot issues with paychecks, deductions, timesheets, and other payroll-related matters
  • Business Operations
    • Administrative support for vital and confidential corporate documentation, legal registrations, compliance requirements, insurance, and other applications
    • Maintain corporate files and record keeping
  • Other
    • Support achievement of departmentmental goals and objectives
    • Prepare reports and spreadsheets as requested
    • Support special HR and corporate projects

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communications skills and comfort collaborating cross functionally and with external partners
  • Sharp attention to detail and creative problem solving skills
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Basic understanding of business and HR management principles
  • Working understanding of human resource and recruiting principles, practices and procedures
  • Ability to collect, compile, and understand corporate data and metrics
  • Time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
  • Proficient with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Ability to quickly learn the organizations HR, payroll, and other employee management software

Preferred

  • At least 2 years experience in Human Resources 
  • Experience using ADP or similar software
  • SHRM-CP or similar certification

Work Environment/Physical Demands: Must have the ability to work on a computer for extended periods of time with or without accommodation.
