Note: SAS/SQL Analytics background is the primary skill, Fraud experience is not mandatory.
This position will report to the Manager of Deposits Fraud Strategy team. The successful candidate will become a joint stakeholder in the overall effort by Corporate Security to prevent and detect fraudulent activity directed against our client’s rapidly developing Deposit product lines. This position will utilize extensive data processing and analytical skills combined with subject matter expertise on deposit products to design and deploy new, industry leading strategies to prevent criminal enterprises, organizations, and individuals from using technology to defraud our client’s customers and accounts.
Responsibilities
– Analyze trends in suspicious activity during the process of opening new accounts, transactional activity and account takeover activity. This will require basic understanding of deposit products and the data structure in Teradata, SAS and Hadoop environments.– Build detections rules and statistical models for detecting and preventing fraud. Analyze and r
eport on their performance.– Assist with a wide variety of ad-hoc analyses #LI-BP1.
Skills
* Bachelor’s (Masters strongly preferred) degree in Business/ Statistics/ Economics
* 4(+) years Banking and Lending experience or other substantial analytical experience with at least 2 year in fraud prevention* Understanding of banking regulations, e.g. Reg CC, Reg E, Fair Banking, AML/BSA etc.* Critical thinking skills
* Ability to use all available tools for analyzing account activity including but not limited to – core banking platform, authentication tools, vendor solutions and data processing tools.
* High proficiency in programming (data processing and analysis) using SQL, SAS, R, shell scripting, Python
* Experience with Teradata, Hadoop, Unix environments is highly preferred
* MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access)* Excellent communications (oral and written), interpersonal / business partnering, and organizational skills.
