Job Description

Community Healthcare Network, is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) serving the underserved communities of Brooklyn, Bronx, Manhattan and Queens. Through the care we provide at our Health Centers and through our various programs, we touch the lives of 85,000 people annually. 

We are seeking a Medical Director/Clinician for our Mobile Units. This position is responsible for assuming leadership in clinical affairs at a particular CHN Center; supervises other clinicians at that Center and teams with the Center Director to manage medical operations at the Center

Qualifications

  • Supervises all center providers as assigned by the Vice President of Medical Affairs (physicians, NPs, CNMs, and physicians assistants).
  • Provides medical services to patients in accordance with CHN clinical policies and procedures on a regularly assigned schedule.
  • Proposes policies on care issues and conducts chart audits to assure compliance.
  • Collaborates with the Center Director and Charge Nurse in all aspects of center operations.  Reviews administrative and clinical policies and procedures annually to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements—proposes changes and new policies to the Vice President of Medical Affairs.
  • Oversees the chart audit process and maintains a peer review process at the assigned center.
  • Works closely with the Associate Medical Director of HIV Clinical Services in all areas concerning HIV patient care.
  • Participates in continuing education and maintains credentials as required
  • Ensure compliance with:

·         Performance evaluations

·         Employee Health Service

·         Agency and clinic/Department orientation of new employees

Certificate/License required:

·         Medical degree from an approved Medical School or Graduate Degree from an accredited School for Advanced Practice Nursing

·         Current New York State Physician or Advanced Practice Nursing license (NP, Psych NP, CNM, etc.)

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

·         Completion of residency and or Advanced Practice Nursing training from an approved residency program

·         Successful completion of the credential process

·         Able to obtain hospital admitting privileges

·         Interest in and conviction of purpose and aims for all programs in the Agency

·         Respect for the rights of individuals to make their own decisions about family planning, etc.

Ability to communicate easily and display a cordial manner towards individuals from a variety of socio-economic, cultural and religious backgrounds
