Job Description


Maintenance of all Colonial locations, including renovation and housekeeping


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


  • Carpentry: Performs basic rough and finished carpentry work in construction and repair of structures partitions, walls, doors, fences, window frames, office furniture, roofs, and shelves.

  • Glazier: Removes broken glass, putty or plastic; replaces windows and door hardware; replaces for replacement of glass for windows, doors, and light fixtures.

  • Electrical: Performs basic electrical installation and repair work in wiring for switches, outlets, power circuits and appliances; repairs lighting systems; inspects electrical systems for unsafe conditions.

  • Plumbing/Painting: Identifies and performs basic repairs of plumbing leaks or breaks; opens and drains; replaces washers and other minor parts; maintains and monitors septic system; prepares various surfaces for paint, enamel, lacquer, varnish, or stain; repairs wall coverings.

  • Grounds Maintenance: Maintains grounds in clean and orderly manner including mowing, trimming, aerating and fertilizing lawns; replaces plants as needed; sets sprinklers; replaces broken sprinkler adjusts automatic time clocks and system pressure if necessary; maintains grounds maintenance trims tree branches that create hazardous situations; installs and maintains drinking repairs/replaces hot water heaters.

Additional duties:


  • Supervise in house and sub contract labor. 

  • Interact and respond to other employees needs or concerns. 

  • Assume Facilities Manager's role in his absence.

  • Ability to work alone unsupervised and make necessary decisions

  • Ability to lift up to 50Lbs.

  • Ability to meet OSHA forklift requirements

  • Ability to operate machinery – Pallet jack, Counter balance, Motrec, Forkilft, and/or wire cutter

  • Basic computer skills
Keep conveyor and wire machinery maintained.


Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.


Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 


Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
