Job Description

 

  • Work closely with Safety Director, Management and Foreman to achieve company-wide safety and environmental goals. 

 

  • Lead by example, assure safe workplace practices are followed, and promote safety awareness.
     
  • Investigate accidents, potential accident situations, and property damage, with complete documentation and root cause analysis.  
     
  • Accompany injured workers to medical appointments as needed
     
  • Train managers, foremen and crew on safety programs such as lockout/tagout, confined space entry, fall protection, NFPA 70E, excavation/trench safety, silica exposures, emergency evacuations, ladder safety and ensure such programs and training are properly documented. Assure that training is scheduled and appropriately conducted.

 

  • Provide aerial/boom lift and scissor lift training to employees at jobsite locations.

 

  • Conduct jobsite audits and assessments.

 

  • Complete job hazard analysis for projects

 

  • Monitor site specific Emergency Response Plans. Take appropriate action in response to emergencies.
     
  • Provide leadership for existing safety committees.

 

  • Drive safety excellence, promote crew involvement and accountability, and proactively eliminate hazards

 

  • This job consists of out of town travel, a clean driving record is required. Provide copy of current DMV record with resume.

 

Qualifications

 

  • 3+ years experience as Safety Coordinator or similar position. 
  • OSHA Construction 10 and 30 Card required or OSHA Construction 10 and 30 hour Instructor

 

  • CPR/FA Instructor
  • Electrical safety experience desirable. 
  • MUST HAVE CLEAN DRIVING RECORD
