Job Description

The UK business rates team provides a comprehensive, integrated service. We call it 'the complete circle of business rates advice'. Our dedicated Rating team, which is one of the largest in the country, we have surveyors who sit on IRRV and RSA panels, over a dozen directors who have Upper Tribunal experience and the largest number of qualified surveyors that hold the prestigious RICS Diplomas in Rating.

 

Our results speak for themselves. Since the start of the 2010 business rate list, we have saved more than £500m for our clients through:

 

  • Auditing historical valuations and reclaiming overpaid business rates
  • Challenging business rates valuation
  • Managing business rate accounts

 

We are looking for an experienced and able individual, keen to join our industry-leading team and take the next step in their career progression. As part of your role, you will be tasked with not only negotiating better business rates for our prestigious client base, but also partnering with them to offer a comprehensive and best-in-class rating service.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Provide expert advice and guidance on all aspects of business rates valuation and management, ensuring exceptional service delivery to clients.
  • Be motivated to contribute to Business Development plans for the business.
  • Provide excellent client relationship management, and be a key contact for several clients, coordinating with the whole team and reporting to the clients.
  • Help develop and implement strategic initiatives to optimize business rates advisory services.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Stay updated with legislative changes and industry trends impacting business rates.

 

Qualifications

  • Significant experience in business rates advisory within the commercial real estate sector.
  • Experience and/or appetite to deliver a full range of advice to retail occupiers and landlords, along with other bulk property types.
  • Ability to provide high quality reporting and communication by way of client relationship management.
  • Proven track record of delivering successful outcomes for clients.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Chartered Surveyor qualification (MRICS) preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., real estate).
