Job Description

Colliers International Japan is a leading global Real Estate services company in the midst of a dynamic transformation and growth phase across Asia. A need has arisen for a senior research professional to join our Tokyo based operations to lead and grow the local research capability. This newly created position will provide a proven research specialist the opportunity to move into a more client-focused role, working closely with our existing client base and our internal stakeholders across multiple functions. Asia Research has clear and ambitious targets for client meetings and service, for production of strategic, rigorous and actionable research, and for integration of the product across the region.

Responsibilities

  • To take part in client presentations, business development activities and regional initiatives.
  • Assist the Head of Research on the production of thematic papers/articles.
  • To build an external presence and network within the local media industry.
  • To prepare research reports and build research models.
  • To monitor developments in the property market in Tokyo and Asia, with an initial focus on Office,  and then growth into Investment, Industrial and Retail property.
  • Prepare, analyse and manage in-house and external research data.
  • Responsible for the good management and maintenance of the database.
  • Keep abreast of more qualitative market trends, economic and government policy.
  • Manage and improve the data collection process.
  • Scope, write and edit major publications, research projects and client reports.

Qualifications

  • Relevant degree in Real Estate, Economics, or Business Administration would be an advantage. 
  • A minimum of 8 years relevant experience in real estate research.
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral – confident in presenting to small and large groups.
  • Bi-lingual in English and Japanese (written and verbal)
