At Colliers Urban Planning, we don’t just plan cities—we create places where people thrive. We’re looking for a Senior Planner who’s ready to contribute, learn, and make a real impact.
Our NSW planning team is entering an existing growth phase, as we expand into new sectors and services. This role provides the opportunity for a mid-career planner looking to take the next step. You will be based in our Sydney office, but as part of our strategic planning team, will have opportunities to work on diverse projects nationally.
You will play a key role in shaping strategy, leading complex projects, and building strong client relationships. What you'll do:
- Assist in delivering diverse urban planning projects including precinct plans for private, institutional and government clients, local and regional land use strategies, preparation of planning instruments, sector strategies for local and state government clients, and land use policy directions.
- Support client engagement and contribute to project success.
- Collaborate across our services including urban design, economics, engagement, and with other Colliers services like Engineering and Strategic Advisory to deliver innovative solutions.
- Undertake research, prepare planning reports, and operate at the intersection of strategy and project delivery.
- Navigate planning frameworks and contribute to strategic outcomes
Qualifications
A degree in Planning or a related field.
3-6 years of experience in strategic urban planning (consulting or government), or experience in statutory planning with opportunities to translate to strategic or work on a range of projects. If you are the right person, but with more or less years’ experience, we encourage you to apply.
Sound project management skills, demonstrated ability to lead project teams and guide more junior team members
Strong communication, research, and writing skills.
A passion for shaping better places and delivering real-world impact.
Enthusiasm to work as part of a national team, while maintaining a primary focus on the NSW market.
