Key services provided to developers in this service line include site assessment and due diligence, planning approvals and engineering design through to completion of construction.
Job Description
Our Engineering & Design team is seeking a Senior Traffic & Transport Engineer to play a key role in delivering a diverse portfolio of development and infrastructure projects. This is an opportunity to take ownership of projects, provide technical leadership, and build strong client relationships while contributing to the continued growth of the team.
You will lead the delivery of high-quality traffic and transport solutions, from initial analysis and design through to reporting, approvals, and project completion. Working closely with internal stakeholders and clients, you’ll provide guidance to junior team members and support project outcomes across multiple concurrent projects.
Specifically:
- Lead the preparation of technical reports, impact assessments, and supporting documentation
- Manage the delivery of traffic and transport projects to meet timeframes and budgets
- Oversee the assessment of development applications against relevant standards and guidelines
- Review and interpret traffic data, modelling outputs, and analysis (e.g. SIDRA)
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, councils, and key stakeholders
- Contribute to and lead fee proposals, bids, and project planning
- Mentor and support junior engineers and contribute to team development
- Take ownership of project performance, including financial and programme outcomes
Qualifications
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- 4–10 years’ experience in traffic and transport engineering (consulting or similar environment)
- Strong working knowledge of SIDRA or similar traffic modelling tools
- Proven ability to manage projects and deliver high-quality outcomes
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to balance technical delivery with client engagement and commercial awareness
- A proactive and collaborative approach, with an interest in mentoring others
