Job Description

Coleto Brands, parent company of Progress Lighting and Kichler, is seeking a motivated Sales Intern to join our team for a paid, 12-week internship from May 26, 2026 through August 14, 2026.

The Sales Intern will support our Sales and Retail Strategy team. This role is remote but would prefer a candidate that is within a commutable distance to either Solon, Ohio or Greenville, South Carolina. This is not a traditional “busywork” internship. From day one, you’ll own meaningful deliverables that influence how we analyze customers, manage pricing, and operate more effectively. You’ll work closely with senior leaders in sales, strategy, and operations on real business challenges. If you enjoy asking why before how and prefer building practical solutions over theoretical assignments, this role is designed for you.

Key Summer Projects (Primary Responsibilities):

You will be responsible for four core, high‑impact projects during the internship:

1. Top Customer Deep Dives
Analyze performance for three of our most important retail accounts, including POS and billing trends, pricing and margin dynamics, and assortment opportunities. Deliver clear, data‑driven recommendations on where and how we should adjust our approach.

2. Pricing & Channel Insight Deck
Develop an executive‑ready presentation comparing pricing across channels, with a clear point of view and actionable recommendations on where the business should focus.

3. Deduction Management Process Redesign
Document the current end‑to‑end deductions process, identify root causes of errors and delays, and propose a streamlined future‑state process with defined ownership and usable workflows.

4. Decision‑Ready Reporting Dashboard
Design and build simplified reporting tools that consolidate key data and surface insights—enabling faster, better decision‑making for the sales team.

Additional Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities:

  • Analyze sales, POS, and customer data to generate insights—not just reports
  • Support pricing analysis across in‑store, eCommerce, and marketplace channels
  • Document and assess business processes to identify simplification opportunities
  • Prepare data‑driven materials for internal and customer‑facing meetings
  • Leverage AI tools to accelerate analysis and improve output quality
  • Contribute to cross‑functional retail strategy and growth initiatives as needed

What You'll Gain:

  • A portfolio of tangible, business‑impacting deliverables
  • Hands‑on exposure to pricing strategy, retail analytics, and key account management
  • Experience solving common commercial challenges around data clarity and process design
  • Mentorship from leaders across sales, strategy, and operations
  • Insight into potential career paths within sales strategy, commercial operations, or retail

Qualifications

We're looking for someone who:

  • Is naturally curious and challenges existing ways of working
  • Takes ownership and accountability for their work
  • Can translate messy or incomplete data into clear recommendations
  • Communicates precisely, both verbally and in writing
  • Moves quickly and operates effectively in ambiguous situations

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field
  • Available to work 30-40 hours per week during the internship period
  • Able to commit to a 12-week internship from May 26, 2026 through August 14, 2026
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Comfortable using AI tools to increase efficiency and quality of work

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with Power BI or other data visualization tools a plus
  • Exposure to retail, sales, or customer data is helpful but not required

Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.
