Job Description

Colby Community College is accepting applications for a full-time Fiber Optic/Telecommunication Instructor at the Norton Correctional Facility. The nine-month position begins in May 2021. The candidate should establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, administrators, and faculty. In addition to teaching, the successful candidate will assess student learning and application of course objectives and competencies and design, develop, and maintain a course curriculum.  Participation in various professional activities, such as actively serving on program advisory committees with area businesses, recruiting and advising students is expected.  Must understand the importance of technology, integrity, innovative thinking, and working as a team to increase enrollment in a rural setting. The applicant will assist with hands-on training in the Sustainable/Renewable Energy Program, including Saturday boot camps in Colby, KS, held every eight weeks.

SALARY
Upper 30s, depending on credentials.

Qualifications

  • High School Dipolma required, associate's degree and/or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Postsecondary teaching experience preferred.
  • Experience working with correctional facilities preferred.
