Colby Community College is located in northwest Kansas, approximately 50 miles from the Nebraska and Colorado borders. From a humble beginning of the 99 students in 1964, CCC now serves more than 1,900 students annually.
In addition to an 80-acre main campus, CCC has a 60-acre farm used as a hands-on laboratory and training facility. The college also accommodates hundreds of off-campus students through face-to-face, online, and hybrid courses.
A number of studies conclude CCC is a solid educational investment. Colby has a strong history of student performance, including the highest retention rate and the highest graduation rate among all Kansas community colleges for the last two years.
Colby Community College is accepting applications for a full-time Financial Aid Counselor. The Financial Aid Counselor performs a variety of responsibilities related to the administration of federal, state and institutional aid to students and performs work involving receiving, analyzing, and validating financial aid. This position processes applications and forms, verifies and processes information to determine eligibility, and helps to maintain student information in the PowerFaids system. This position tracks the academic progress of assigned students and actively contacts students regarding concerns about course-load, academic progress, grades, and eligibility for educational benefits. The successful candidate will provide quality service to a variety students, parents, faculty, staff, and the public, be detail-oriented, and technologically competent. This position reports to the Director of Financial Aid.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the ability to read, interpret, explain, and apply provisions of federal and state rules and regulations and guidelines related to financial aid programs. The ability to meet schedules and deadlines is essential. Must have attention to detail, computer data entry skills, and excellent verbal and written skills. Understanding the importance of technology, integrity, innovative thinking, and the ability to work as a team to increase enrollment in a rural setting is critical.

Minimal amounts, but some travel is expected for this position.
$25,500-$28,500, depending on credentials and experience.
