Colby Community College is located in northwest Kansas, approximately 50 miles from the Nebraska and Colorado borders. From a humble beginning of the 99 students in 1964, CCC now serves more than 1,900 students annually. 

In addition to an 80-acre main campus, CCC has a 60-acre farm used as a hands-on laboratory and training facility. The college also accommodates hundreds of off-campus students through face-to-face, online, and hybrid courses.

A number of studies conclude CCC is a solid educational investment. Colby has a strong history of student performance, including the highest retention rate and the highest graduation rate among all Kansas community colleges for the last two years. 

Job Description

The Adult Education department at Colby Community College is seeking a part-time instructor for the Accelerating Opportunity: Kansas (AO-K) program. The individual will assist learners in attaining basic skills and improving communication skills in their workplace setting. The premise of the program is to use contextualized lessons that are job-relatable and will quickly make a difference for the student and the employer as new learning is applied. A curriculum will be ready for implementation when the course begins.

The current partner for the program is Citizens Health, which includes the hospital, clinic and senior living center in Colby. Classes will take place during the day as part of the student’s workday. More partners may be added as the grant progresses. 

Hours will depend on the number of students and location. A minimum of 12 hours per week. The target start date is October 14.  The grant is available through June and may be renewable.

SALARY
$15-$18 per hour.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in any area is required.
