Job Description

As a V.I.E Commercial Underwriter – Single Risk & Surety, you will support the underwriting of tailor-made guarantees for corporate clients. Your mission will include:

Underwriting & Risk Analysis

  • Analyse corporate credit, project, and country risks within the scope of Single Risk and Surety business.
  • Assess financial statements, business models, and transaction structures.
  • Prepare underwriting recommendations supported by quantitative and qualitative analysis.

Commercial & Client Interaction

  • Support client and broker relationship management.
  • Prepare and participate in commercial meetings, negotiations, and portfolio reviews.
  • Contribute to the structuring and pricing of Surety and Single Risk solutions.

Portfolio & Process Management

  • Ensure administrative and compliance follow-up of contracts.
  • Contribute to portfolio monitoring, reporting, and internal reviews.
  • Work closely with risk, legal, and commercial teams across the region.

Qualifications

Education & Background

  • degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Risk Management, or a related field.
  • First experience in underwriting, finance, banking, insurance, or corporate analysis is a plus.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Interest in credit risk, structured products, surety, or trade finance.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with stakeholders.
  • Proactive, eager to learn, and comfortable working in a dynamic international environment.

Languages

  • Fluent English is required.
  • German or French is an asset.
