Job Description

We seek an experienced individual with strong Data Management & Analytical Skills who will play a key role in helping upscale data operations. You will be responsible for leading initiatives for research within the organisation.

The perfect candidate will have experience using statistical languages and will be someone that can bring new ways of thinking and innovative approaches to collecting, evaluating and modelling datasets that will be used as the foundation for the business’s future solutions.

The Head of Research will be a critical thinker, who is intuitive and pays attention to detail. You will be one who has a strong work ethic and thrives working across multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the team to produce multiple outputs simultaneously.
  • Develop proposals and develop projects for the research team, liaising with multiple team members across CcHub.
  • Locate and qualify new sources of data and information from primary and secondary sources.
  • Review large amounts of data from multiple sources and curate the relevant facts.
  • Perform statistical analysis using Excel/R/Stata and putting together reports.
  • Perform statistical analysis using qualitative analysis tools such as Atlas.
  • Report findings from research in a concise, coherent and structured fashion using communication tools such as written reports, Powerpoints, and spreadsheets.
  • Understand statistical concepts descriptive and inferential analysis, data science approaches and predictive model fitting.
  • Leverage analytical techniques and technologies to interrogate, visualise and understand data sets.
  • Develop and maintain the organisation's data to support reporting and analytics requirements.
  • Improve data quality and the processes and sources of data through the development and operation of data quality queries.
  • Prepare regular reporting on a monthly/quarterly basis.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • PhD in Statistics, Economics, Health, Development Research or related field from an accredited University.
  • Minimum of 5 years research experience in the Technology space will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in developing research tools for qualitative and quantitative analysis
  • Experience using statistical languages such as R/Stata/Phython.
  • Strong proposal writing skills and project management.
  • Strong analytical skills, numerical confidence and ability to translate numbers into clear insights and recommendations.
  • Working Knowledge of Reference Management Software.
  • Adept at presenting information and concepts.
