Job Description
The role will involve working closely with a project team, coordinating project support to administer and deliver on public healthcare projects.The Project Associate supports a standing committee on emerging infectious diseases and 21st century health threats, established to provide rapid consultations to the federal government on the COVID-19 pandemic and related issues. The Project Associate will also support related medical and public health preparedness and response projects.
The Project Associate will establish processes and procedures to ensure the effective and efficient operation of these projects. The role will work with expert committees established for the purpose of guiding these projects and will coordinate project activities, handle inquiries, organize meetings and workshops, and develop materials.
The Project Associate will serve many functions including:
- Oversee day-to-day project implementation of projects and qualitative research: planning/preparation, timelines of deliverables, data collection, data analysis, and communication of results
- Draft regular and ad hoc reports on implementation progress; liaise with Program Manager and Practice Lead on project processes.
- Manage the coordination of project partners
- Research, draft and produce high-quality Project output deliverables.
- Ensure projects and programmes are driven and achieved within defined budgets and to specified standards of quality and performance.
- Contribute to strategic and analytic aspects of Project work
- Develop and deliver business prospects and potential projects from private sector and public-sector clients.
- Facilitate communications among members of the project team and project stakeholders
- Train and coordinate the research activities for field workers
- Manage project administrative details and other duties as assigned
- Extract and clarify data from various sources and databases.
- Format, transform, review, and assess data sources to determine their relevance and utility for the company’s projects.
- Contribute to creation of presentations, manuscripts, reports, and funding proposals.
- Perform other duties as assigned that fall within reasonable scope of the Design for Health practice.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in epidemiology, public health, health economics, health policy, public policy, data analytics, project management, or related discipline.
- Good understanding of English with confident language fluency that confers strong (public) presentation and communication skills.
- Previous relevant multinational experience in public health or healthcare sector
- Minimum of 2 years of project coordination/management experience for grant funded projects.
- Previous relevant multinational experience in public health or healthcare sector
- Demonstrated interest in global health and health security
- Ability to prioritize, focus and achieve results in a fast paced and multinational environment
- Ability to initiate and complete tasks under tight deadlines and changing priorities, while maintaining attention to results and detail
- Ability to professionally and effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders and work in order to advance the unit's mission
- Ability to work independently and in collaboration with a team
- Excellent research and writing skills to include conducting literature reviews, data extraction and contributing to research publications.
